Modern Slavery Statement
Forced labour and child labour is a global issue that governments around the world have been focusing on in the last few years, and legislation is being introduced globally to tackle it via modern slavery laws or import controls.
Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan supports and respects the protection of human rights and stands against any instance of forced or child labour, or human trafficking. As an organization, we hold ourselves to high standards, operate with integrity, and comply with applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction where we operate. As well, on an annual basis, we publish a report outlining our policies, guidelines, and other practices in our ongoing effort to prevent any instances of modern slavery across our business operations.
Please be advised that the 2023 and 2024 reports apply to the UK’s Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Canada’s Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act. Starting with the 2025 report, Ontario Teachers’ will report under the UK’s Modern Slavery Act.
