Adam Howard appointed to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan’s Board
Steve McGirr, the Chair of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan’s board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Howard to the board effective immediately for a term that runs until December 31, 2028. Mr. Howard was appointed by the Province of Ontario, one of the Plan’s two sponsors.

With proven leadership across global financial services and capital markets, including senior executive and board roles in Canada and internationally, he brings experience and perspective that will be a strong asset to the Plan’s board,” said Mr. McGirr.
Mr. Howard spent more than a decade with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Merrill Lynch and Bank of America in Canada. Here he was responsible for strategy and execution across corporate and investment banking, commercial banking, equity and fixed income sales and trading, and transaction services. Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles with J.P. Morgan in Canada, Asia, United States and United Kingdom, including Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Securities Canada Inc. and President of J.P. Morgan Securities Asia Ltd.
Mr. Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queen’s University and has completed professional accreditation with the Investment Dealers’ Association in Canada and the National Association of Securities Dealers in the United States. He currently serves as Chair of the Body of Trustees of Trinity College School and is an advisor to the Georgian Bay Land Trust.
